Ullar blinked, then rolled his eyes. "I can't do anything, can I? Whatever..." He grumbled, putting Rush's chain in L'arc's hand and sticking his hands in his pockets, kicking at a twig.

"Well," Rhre didn't seem keen on questioning anything. "Might as well get started." She knelt in front of Rush, who growled at her for a moment before holding Byrne out to her. She took the boy and laid him out on her blanket, getting to work.

Eventually, she asked, "What would you have me do with this Dark Matter, L'arc? Amputate?"

"...only if there's no other option. Can't you, I don't know, clean it out or something? I understand I may be asking too much," L'arc said, looking down at Byrne's hand. "This looks pretty bad..."

"Dark Matter is what's keeping it attached and functional, it seems. The only thing I can think of...is to treat whatever symptoms he has as a result of this. If he's lucky, he may be capable of managing and maintaining a peaceful connection with the Dark Matter." Rhre sighed. She finished up her treatment of Byrne's wounds, then turned to Rush.

He snarled at the slightest touch, backing away as far as the chain would allow. He glared at them from the bush he sat in, growling slightly whenever Rhre moved. "Very well then...he does not desire treatment. Lost within his own mind...it is a terrible fate, indeed." She looked up at Ullar, frowning. "You are not meant to be, young one. L'arc, where did you get this cursed soul? This dark heart of his knows nothing but pain and suffering...another terrible fate."

Ullar just fixed her with his dead gaze, unblinking as he regarded her the same as he would a plate full of green beans.

"He was in the Manakete Palace. It's... complicated," the forest prince said, rubbing his temple. "It's all complicated. I don't know half of what's going on..." he murmured, shaking his head. "I'm sorry to bother you all again," he said.

"I assure you, your visit is much appreciated." Rhre smiled slightly. "You're free to stay as long as you'd like, provided you control your companions. Peace be upon you, my prince, even in these troubled times. Rest and relax here with us." She smiled happily. "Undoubtedly, though, you'll be wanting to return to the Manaketes. Gudo here can escort you as far as the Curved Lake, when you're prepared to move. In the meantime, you may want to take the heartless one beside you hunting. Lest he get the wrong idea about the newborn Viera in the tent."

"Yeah, I can do that," L'arc said, rising to his feet. He turned to Rush and motioned for the Chimera to stay, right where he was, but could only hope that he was good at charades. "All right, Ullar. Let's go catch you some food," he said.

Rush didn't have much of a choice. With Byrne out of commission, that meant he was stuck wherever the human was, thanks to the chain binding them together.

"Sweet, food!" Ullar grinned, jumping up. "Let's go quick, my stomach won't shut up!" He laughed a bit, eager to get going.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," L'arc said, smiling slightly at the manakete boy.

((Don't apologize. It's not a big deal once and awhile. o3o))

"Eve...Eve, wake up," Manny said quietly. They had found themselves in a somewhat familiar place -- but not to them. The cave at the top of Tirell Mounth, safe enough to rest in, easy enough to defend. One way up, one way down.

But Manny...well, Manny felt sick. He had thrown up twice, the sticky dark sludge (thankfully odorless) in the corner of the cave, not showing any signs of drying up. The wound to his leg was bad. Eve had spent a lot of time repairing just his arm, she hadn't put much energy into fixing his leg yet. Which wasn't really too much of an issue; it wasn't why Manny was waking Eve up now.

He had a dead black rabbit in his hands, that was why. Food he had caught for his dear 'mother', so she wouldn't starve. But she had fallen asleep when he went to hunt, and he was a bit worried that she might not wake up. After yesterday, he wouldn't blame her; stress and shock wore down on the brain in more ways than one.

Eve sat up slowly, blinking at Manny for a moment or two before realizing what was going on, and where she was, and what events had led up to her getting here. She rubbed her eyes and offered Manny a wan, tired smile. "I'm up," she said. "What did you bring me?" she asked.

Manny held up the rabbit, and pulled a small pouch off of his belt. It was supposed to hold money, judging from the design of the bag, but it was full of small berries. Balla berries, at that. Sour like a citrus, but very tasty, and a good source of vitamin. "I don't need food. But you definitely need to eat. I'll go collect some wood to make a fire, so you can cook the bunny." He stood again, smiling slightly.

"Oh, all right, Thank you," Eve said, smilng at the mannequinn. "Don't go too far. I'd hate for you to get into trouble," she said.

"I'll be fine." Manny shook his head, smiling a bit. He was quick to go, trotting down the side of the mountain with ease. He got to work quickly; his hand turned to an axe head, and he started chopping up a fallen tree.

((If you wanted another demon character, this would be the time to do it.

If not, I have no idea what to do. xD Maybe I'll spawn in an antagonist. We're in need of another...))

((Do I still have an antagonist? -thinks about it- Not sure the Oceanids count.))

((Our group is all male except for Aries and Eve. I'll add a girl. She will be one of our heroes.))

"Well, well. Hello there," came a voice from behind Manny, not too long after he started working. "What are you doing?"

The mannequinn traced the voice to a female demon, leaning against a tree nearby. She wore a burgandy tunic-style dress, with thigh-high boots and several pieces of leather armor. She stood at about the same hieght as the mannequinn, a head taller than Eve. Her hair was pulled back into a bun, with braids running through and around it. In her hand was a scythe, and from the way she handled it, it was obviously her weapon. Her green eyes watched Manny's moves carefully, trying to determine if he was a threat or not.

"What is your name, and what are you doing here?" she asked.

Manny's hand immediately changed to a sword, and he turned to face the woman with a seriousness unlike him. "My name is Mannequinn. I'm collecting firewood, nothing more. You need to leave." He said dangerously, his hand-sword gleaming with a black metallic substance that was beyond his knowledge. He knew it was a part of him, sure, but...the way his body seemed to obey and transform to his will was a bit frightening. Mostly to him, but still frightening.

"I mean you no harm if you mean none to me," the demoness said, her eyes narrowing slightly. "My name is Kendra, and I am a nomad. My camp is nearby. If you mean to attack..."

Manny hesitated, but he lowered his arm and returned it to an axe. "No. That was self defense. I don't mean any harm, if you mean no harm to me..." He said quietly, fixing her with a softer gaze than before. If she was really peaceful, he had no real reason to not trust her. "Like I said...I'm just collecting firewood."

"...as was I," Kendra replied after a moment, glancing around to ensure that the mannequinn was alone, and that there was no danger to her. She loosened her grip on her scythe, then looked up the pathway of Tirell Mount. "Are you staying up there? I had thought that I might move camp to a safer position."

"I'm staying there, yes." Manny nodded. "My mother is there, too. We're...doing okay." He said hesitantly, unsure of whether or not he should trust this woman. He had already repaired his pants, but if she watched him carefully enough, she could tell he was holding his leg gingerly.

"Are you all all right?" she asked, glancing over to him. Then, a bit more hesitantly, "Do you have room for one more? I can fend for myself, but the cave up there is quite a good shelter."
