Michael nodded and hurried to the car, turning the radio on and listening for anything that sounded James-esque. Knowing him, it probably wouldn't have a code. Cruel and unusual attacks were always his favorite.,

There was clicking as the police scanner changed channels automatically to pick up any chatter. There were a few codes listed off, but none of them either of the ones Werr had said. Werr was busy lowering the cartop carrier to the ground. He popped the lid, pulling out the sleek gray motorcycle. It looked new. Werr pulled out a slightly less-new side-seater and quickly worked to attach it.

The police scanner started picking up a lot of chatter all of the sudden. "We have a 20001, 22350, 23103, 207, a 10-80...I don't think we have enough codes for all this...direct pursuit, I have eyes on the vehicle, driving up interstate 4."

Werr looked up. "A hit-and-run, speeding, reckless driving, a kidnapping and an explosion. Sounds like him. He's still on the interstate, lucky us, and it sounds like he has a police tail."

Michael rolled his eyes. "Sounds like him? If it isn't him, we're all going to die, because James would meet the person doing this and they would destroy the entire world." He shrugged. "Now that I'm thinking about it, it doesn't actually sound that bad. A giant explosion of light. No pain."

((You know, if Quinn woke up, James would probably tell her more about Michael's past. Hint. Hint.))

((Hint taken. o3o))

"Good point. Now, get in," Werr said, strapping a helmet to his head and flipping down the visor, holding a matching one out to Michael. "I still have things to do, I'm not about to let that freak destroy the world just yet."

Quinn finally jerked awake with a startled cry, immediately dropping her head into her hands. What a headache...she looked up and around, biting her lip as she remembered where she was. "Wh-where are you taking me?" She demanded of James, though she was fairly certain that he was taking her to the Institute. There were sirens and a couple police cars behind them, not that James seemed to care.

((Aren't I subtle? Though, she would have to ask. He's not just going to force the information upon her. That's not evil enough for him.))

Michael got in, but eyed the helmet critically. Deciding he didn't have time to argue with Werr, he pulled it over his head, though if it was any situation but this one, he would have straight-out refused. "But, Werr, your things would go away as well. Peacefully release."

James did, actually, care that he had a tail. He was annoyed. "Institute, duh. Don't worry, I'll look in on you. I always do with cases related to my ex-partner. Ss, I supose, now that you have Werr with you." With that hint dropped, he waited for Quinn to question the implication. That Iyouis was clearly not agent stock, and Tyler. Tyler wasn't a possibility to begin with.

"No, I have to do it myself. If the world is destroyed at James' hands, and my things are sent away by is destruction, then I wouldn't be the one doing it. Now shut up and hang on," Werr started the bike engine, counted to two, and set the bike forward. He shot forward at the same speeds Malya had driven at. Apparently, he had done this sort of thing before.

"E-ex-partners?" Quinn blinked. Plural? She thought back to what James had said before. "M-Michael was your partner?"

Michael held on, but not very tight. If he were in a reasonable mood, he would hold on, but he wasn't in a reasonable mood, so he refused to hold on properly, just to spite Werr. "So you need to destroy these things or you have things to do? If you have to destroy things, it doesn't really matter who does the destroying. I'm not going to shut up, by the way. I don't enjoy shutting up, it goes against my principles."

James gasped in fake-shock. "You should strap in, Quinn. Yes, of course, I meant Michael. Who else could there be? Tyler? That little kid couldn't hurt a fly." He slammed the gas again, and with what was almost the last of his energy, pulled up a foot-high wall of light under to police cars coming after him.

"I have things to do! And if they get destroyed, I can't very well do them, can I?" Werr shouted over the roar of the engine. He weaved around several cars, one of whom honked their horn at the reckless driving Werr seemed to be portraying, though he was in complete control the entire time.

Quinn sat up and buckled in her seatbelt, ignoring the pain in her chest. "What all did you do wi-with Michael?" She asked, looking over her seat at the police cars that were catapulted into the air by the wall.

James grinned. She was falling for it. It was oh so easy when he didn't even have to lie. "I learned from Michael. However bad you think I am, I'm just perfecting what he taught me. Like you. Kidnapping an innocent to control the target was one of his favorite techniques."

"Oh. I suppose that makes sense, but you would be gone as well, so it would hardly matter, Werr."

((Can I have Timothy wake up? And I don't know what else to do with Michael.))

Quinn fell silent again. Michael had 'taught' James? Taught him to kill and attack and kidnap and...and...Quinn shivered. Great, just great...even if she did make it away from James, where could she go?! Sylas might be able to protect her, but...she would be too close to Werr and Michael for that...

"Just..." Quinn sniffed, wiping her eyes. "Just stop, please..." She hugged herself tightly, refusing to look at James. It would be easier if he just killed her...

((Yes, yes, go ahead.))

James laughed. "Stop what? The car?" He shook his head. "I can't do that, girl. You're safer with me than you are with them. I'm not allowed to hurt you unless you resist, so you'll be fine until we get to the Institute. Once we're at the Insitute, I can probably get you better quarters than before."

Timothy woke up on the floor next to Sylas' bed, the only place he'd been able to sleep without nightmares the past night. As soon as he realized that Sylas wasn't in the room, he ran out of the cubicle, downstairs, and into the kitchen, looking for Sylas in a panic.

"W-why would you do that...?" Quinn asked quietly, wiping her eyes. She didn't know what to think anymore. She was utterly bewildered, nothing was making sense anymore...

Sylas was indeed in the kitchen, making over-easy eggs and toast. A fairly simple breakfast, but he was spicing everything wonderfully, as usual. "Good morning, Timothy," He smiled when his friend came running downstairs.

James shrugged. He didn't really know himself; other than the fact that if he could turn her, he could hurt Michael. "Maybe I'm just becoming a nice person?" There were multiple dead policemen who would say differently, but Quinn hadn't seen that and she didn't need to.

Timothy dropped to all fours next to Sylas and curled up next to his legs, rubbing his head against the Iyouis' leg in a way that was almost feline. "Hi Sylas." He whispered.

"That's...that's impossible, people don't just change..." Quinn shook her head. "Not like that. It doesn't happen..."

Sylas just smiled. "Would you like some breakfast?" He asked happily, flipping the eggs he had on the pan.

James rolled his eyes. "Maybe I was never that bad to begin with? Maybe I'm a new James who was sent here by aliens." His voice dropped to a dramatic whisper. "Maybe I'm secretly in love with you and trying to make you propose your love."

Timothy shook his head. "Not unless I can stay her with you. I don't want to leave, Sylas. Please don't leave me."

((And you said you WEREN'T going to mentally traumatize her. You liar. She's definitely traumatized. It is perfect.))

Quinn shivered at the thought, plugging her ears at this point. "No, no, no! Shut up, don't say things like that, you creep!" She whimpered, shutting her eyes tightly. As if that would get the freak to leave.

Sylas smiled, setting a plate down on the floor with bacon, eggs and toast. He then sat down next to Timothy with his own plate. "I will not leave. I do not have anywhere I need to go, so here I am."

((No, I didn't! I said I would! Remember the skinned squirrels?))

James laughed and checked one of the road signs. They were nearing an outlying institute; they had more than the headquarters. "It might be true. You'll never know, now will you, if you keep saying terrible things like that."

Sylas' attempt at sitting down next to Timothy was all very well, but Timothy was so clingy at this point that he had to be touching Sylas, so he scooted closer to Sylas in a way that was definitely inside his bubble. "Ok-kay. Don't go."

((Oh. Oh yeah, you said you wouldn't traumatize her like Michael was traumatized. Carry on, then. I like it either way. xDD Were we going to actually make it to the institute, and have it be a breakout operation, or would that have been too hard?))

Quinn opened her eyes enough to see the sign, and panic welled up inside her. She didn't want to go there, she didn't want to be experimented on, she didn't want any of that! But...there was nowhere to go. James was driving too fast for her to try jumping out, and she was fairly certain the door had a childlock on it. She tried it desperately, but it was indeed locked.

Sylas was a little uncomfortable at first, but he shook it off. Timothy had apologized yesterday, there was no point in feeling upset about any of this anymore. Sylas smiled and patted Timothy on the head before starting to eat.

At this point, Vrach's van pulled into the driveway. He climbed out and moved to the backseat, pulling out a patched-up Malya. He carried her inside, pushing open the door with his back. He made his way into the living room and gently set her down on the couch before checking her vitals and attaching an IV to her arm.

((ALSO. Nothing could ever be as traumatizing as Michael. He's a wacko.

Nothing is ever to hard, and I don't know what else works at this point.))

James rolled his eyes. "You can't get out, Quinn." They were almost there now, but he was having to slow down as they reached the town to avoid hitting people. It was such a bother to be delayed by crashing the car into another. Besides, he liked this car. It went fast, which was good enough for him.

Timothy was completely unaware that Malya had come back. Sylas wasn't mad at him anymore. He began carefully eating the eggs. "Thank you, S-S-Sylas." He whispered.

((Oh. Okay? Haha, Michael seems fairly normal to me. Well, Werr could flip the car, but maybe that would cause problems so yeah, on to the Institute.))

Quinn trembled, covering her eyes with her hands, starting to cry again. What was she to do? Nothing. She couldn't do anything.

"You are quite welcome," Sylas smiled, looking curiously at Vrach and Malya.
