Michael huffed and rolled his eyes, then frowned as if trying to remember the exact words Werr had said. After barely fifteen seconds, Michael gave up. "I don't suppose I can get you to repeat that?" Without waiting for Werr to answer, he shook his head. "I don't suppose you will. You're a spoil sport like that."

Werr cast a final glare at Michael before the car slowed to a stop. "We're here. Now, Michael, where are we?"

Michael opened the car door and looked over at the buidling. "Old lab. Well. Old lab that's being used for a new, elemental-related experiment. I'll explain inside, if you really care that much." Michael turned around and picked up the now-sleeping Tyler to carry him outside and into the house.

Timothy exited the car behind Michael, but immediately moved to the side to wait for the Iyouis to exit the car so he could hide behind him on the way inside. He assumed that would be safer, though he wasn't really sure why.

Werr just frowned, following Michael inside. Sylas climbed out and allowed Timothy to crawl behind him before continuing. Quinn followed as well, letting out a sigh. Subject followed, peering around cautiously. He was a bit suspicious; labs meant surveillance. Didn't they also mean scientists? Regardless, he followed, though somewhat out of curiosity.

((Why is Timothy crawling? Sylas isn't that short.))

Inside the house was seemingly empty; the blank white walls of a town-house model building. This lab was old and had been replaced with others after the Institute was able to become legal. Or, legaller. It still wasn't all the way legal, but these experiments were of the right sort. "Third door down on the left."

((It's a figure of speech. Instead of walk, I could use scramble, inch, move, a whole slew of words. Perhaps crawl wasn't the right one, but yeah.))

Quinn looked around nervously, not sure if she wanted to be here. Werr, on the other hand, stalked inside, went straight to the door and yanked it open. He was impatient and grumpy after Michael's interrogations in the car, and he had just about enough of everyone else. He wanted some time alone, but he knew that he wouldn't get it until he met this friend of Michael's and the others were resting again.

((Okay then. Just checking.))

Michael reached forward and pulled Werr back, just as an icicle shot out the door and embedded in the wall, where Werr's shoulder would have been. "Did I forget to mention the way we parted? Ooops." He stepped past the man and into the room, followed by the others.

Werr's eye seemed to twitch funnily, but he only looked angrier after that. "And you thought that my suggestions weren't safe, what the heck was that?!" He stormed into the room after Michael, looking for the source of the icicle.

A pale, dark-haired boy sat at a computer, though he'd spun his chair around so he was watching the door. "Hello, Michael. Who're your friends, and why don't they know how to knock?" He crossed his arms and glared at Werr. His glare only depended when Sylas entered the room. "You brought an Iyouis here?" he asked, staring at Michael incredulously.

Michael shrugged. "You know I'm uniquely... Unique." He crossed and un-crossed his arms, then pointed to the group one by one. "Quinn, Werr, Subject, Sylas, Timothy, and Tyler. I'm glad you still know who I am."

Sylas frowned at the boy, unhappy with the child's tone. They were all a bit grumpy, to be honest; Werr and Michael's argument in the car had made sure of that. All except for Subject, of course. He was looking around curiously, pulling his hood down and taking his sunglasses off so that he could see things better.

The boy nodded to himself and spun around in his chair once, then nodded again. "I'm Kyle. Anyone care to tell me why you're here? And why you felt the need to get yourselves on national television before you showed up?" He crossed his arms and leaned back in the chair, still glaring at Sylas. He really didn't like Iyouis. There was no reason for one to be here.

"We...well..." Quinn mumbled, wondering if she should tell. Sylas just glared back, liking this 'Kyle' person less and less, the more they glared at each other.

"We had a place already, but we were followed by enemies, who killed the host of our safehouse and nearly killed Quinn here," Werr said flatly. "We saved Quinn, but had to leave before anyone showed up to see about the gunfire."

((Don't worry, he'll warm up to him. He just expects Lotis.))

Kyle cocked his head, then nodded. "Alright then. Just don't get me dead. I'm rather attached to not being dead you know." He looked over at them again, then looked at his laptop for a second. "Gifted? I know Michael's fire, what're the rest of you? And we still need to discuss why Michael's brought a bloodthirsty monster here."

"No promises." Werr snorted. "Earth. Rocks and metals, if you want to get specific."

"Er, I'm water, but I specialize in ice." Quinn nodded.

"You should already know what my abilities are," Sylas tutted. "But I should tell you that I mainly shape-shift. I am not as good at other things."

"I'm an amplifier!" Subject piped up happily.

Tyler grinned at Kyle, because he grinned at everyone. "I'm not special at all, but guess what? My bear is. He's a magical prince, but the weasles made him have this body. Now, instead, he's a bear and he uses rocks 'n' stuff to fight."

Timothy looked from Sylas to Kyle, then down at his feet. "L-Light," he stammered. He then proceded to clam up, hoping he didn't have to say anything to this awful boy.

"I guess the last person we need is an air-type," Werr said, though he had no desire to add to their disgruntled group. He wondered now why he had bothered to stick with them; Michael was a jerk, Sylas was a freak, Tyler was annoying...at least Quinn was a little nicer. Werr couldn't help but feel a little happy that they had saved the poor girl.

"Why were you asking?" Sylas sat on the floor, looking a little less unhappy the less he looked at Kyle. He looked at Timothy instead, and couldn't help but smile.

((Because, Werr, Tyler has sucked out your brain and fed it to his bear. Dastardly child.))
Kyle glanced back at them and nodded once. "Yes, that would've been useful." He spun his chair slightly and looked at Michael. "There's no chance that Tyler would-"

"None," Michael interrupted, not looking at all amused. "Talk to Werr about it. Once I'm not around."

"Talk to me about what, exactly?" Werr pried, frowning all the more. More secrets. Great. Werr made a quick mental note reminding himself that everyone had secrets. Everyone else's just seemed to be ridiculously unpleasant, even compared to his. "Honestly, I'm just tired and I need some time to myself." He said snappishly.

Kyle looked at Michael, then rolled his eyes toward the door. "I'll tell you when Michael's not here. If I tell you while he is here, he'll throw a fit, and that's always so annoying. Leave."

Michael raised an eyebrow, then turned around and strode out of the room with Tyler still in his arms. "Sylas, Timothy, Quinn, you should come too," he called over his shoudler. "I guarantee you won't like what you here, though Werr might."

"O-oh. Okay." Quinn nodded, gettng up to follow. Sylas did as well, picking up Timothy as he went.

Once they were out of the room, Werr turned his dark eyes on Kyle. He waited silently, but before Kyle had a chance to speak, Werr started coughing. He wiped the blood away from his mouth when he was done, unhappy about revealing such a thing to someone he just met. He couldn't have done anything to avoid it, but still... "What do you want, then?" Werr demanded, wiping his hand off on his sleeve.
