Tyler followed Sylas, skipping slightly dejectedly. He'd hoped Quinn would come, since he really did like her. Because she hadn't, his only option was to kidnap her; but that was something weasels did. The whole point was to avoid being like the weasels, so he knew he was stuck. "Is Quinn going to be okay, Sylas? I don't want her to get hurt..."

"I...I'm not sure." Sylas sighed.

"Maybe we could stick around. Wait and see...if the others attack her, we can step in and save her." Subject suggested, smiling.

Sylas paused and frowned at him. "I...I am not sure." He looked down at Tyler. "What do you think?"

Tyler frowned slightly, then shook his head. "It's too dangerous! They might find us watching them and eat us! Or attack us! Or bite us! It would be very bad. We can't stay." He kept walking on with Sylas and Timothy, frowning worriedly as he tried to think of a better option. "What if we tell Quinn a day, and then we can come get her on that day? Does that work Sylas?"

"Maybe..." Sylas frowned slightly. "Perhaps we could just tell her a place. And if she wants to come with us, she can meet us at that place on a certain day, and we'll come and save her."

"That sounds good to me." Subject nodded. "I don't want to be bitten, though..."

"Okay then." Tyler went into the kitchen again and faced Quinn. "Quinn, this is important. You need to listen. If Michael or Werr try to kill you or eat you or make you into waffles, come to the red ice cream shop on Saturday. It's the one by the merry-go-round." With those, fairly obscure, instructions, he skipped out of the room and rejoined the group. "Alrighty! Let's go."

Quinn blinked at him in confusion, then slowly nodded. She'd have to think about it...

Sylas took Tyler's hand again and started walking once more. "Good job." He said softly. "We must find a place as far away from the ice cream shop as we can. They'll be looking for us, so..."

Tyler nodded. "Not too far, though. We'll have to walk there every Saturday, remember?" He skipped out of the building, then held out his hand to Subject. "C'mon, Subject! Skip with me!" he demanded. Power was a dangerous thing.

"For a little while, yes..." Sylas said thoughtfully.

Subject grinned and started skipping. "Got it!" He took Tyler's hand as he did so. He was perfectly fine with skipping, and he was starting to think that Tyler might be the best boss he'd ever had.

Tyler and Subject skipped for quiet a while, stopping occasionally so Timothy could keep up. Tyler didn't mind, however. He thought Timothy was adorable and therefore didn't mind waiting at all.

Timothy leaned against Sylas, walking at a decent pace. An Iyouis, even one deliberately slowing himself down, walked faster than Timothy did. "S-Sylas? Where're we going? Did L-L-Lotus find us?"

"No. Thankfully, no." Sylas said quietly. "Don't worry. Lotus won't hurt us anymore...I'm sure of it. Because when he shows his face again, I'm going to put an end to him. I promise." His grip tightened on Timothy for a moment, but not to the point where it hurt. Just reassuring the child that he was safe, right here in his Iyoui arms.

((Where are they going?))

"Okay." Timothy calmed down immediately, pressing his head against Sylas' shoulders as he walked. In some ways, he was younger than Tyler; but that made sense. The voices had started at about Tyler's age. Once they'd gone away, he reverted to that style of behavior.

((Why would I know? xDD))

Sylas smiled happily, leading his dear friends along the road. "Perhaps we could find a hotel. If you see a nice hotel that you like, tell me. I can get us in."

((Oh Bun-wife.))

They walked for a while longer before Tyler pointed one out. It wasn't too nice, and, technically, it was a motel, but it would probably serve their purpose. They ended up trashing everything they stayed in anyway. "C'mon, Subject! Let's investigate the hotel!"

((Sagey-wagey, Tyler's the one who suggested they left. xD))

"Investigation!" Subject clapped happily, but paused and put a hand on his chest. He coughed for a moment, then started hiccuping.

"Are you alright?" Sylas questioned with concern.

"Yeah, I'll be - hic - fine. Hey, wa - hic - wait up!" He called after Tyler, darting after the boy. Sylas set Timothy down and went to pay, returning to a more human like form, so not to alarm the key-guardian (or whatever he was called).

"We need a room," Sylas said quietly, looking at the pudgy man behind the counter, who was smoking a cigar.

"You're in luck, there's only one left. Room 5. People say it's haunted, but...whatever. You still want it?"

"Yes." Sylas insisted, putting one hand on the counter. He seemed to concentrate a bit, then slid his hand across the table a bit. A crisp 50 dollar bill, smoking ever so slightly, appeared on the counter.

"Cute," The man snorted. "You a magician?"

Sylas thought for a moment, then smiled. "Yes. I am. We are staying for a week."

"Alrighty then." The room key was slid across the counter, along with five dollars change. "Have a nice day."

"You too." Sylas took the key and handed the change to Timothy before walking up the stairs to follow Tyler and Subject. "Room 5. Tyler, our room is numbered 5!" He called down the hallway.

((But... Sylas championed it!

Tyler and Subject may be the most adorable children ever.))

Tyler nodded and grabbed Subject's hand, dragging him around toward Room 5. "Let's find the room! Here we go!" Of course, holding Subject's hand simply served to energize the Gifted, even if he didn't admit he was energized.

Timothy took the change from Sylas and held it very carefully. He followed the Iyouis along until Sylas was ready to take the change back, when he gave it back as if it was the most valuable substance he'd ever held. "Is it really haunted, Sylas?"

"No." Sylas shook his head, opening the door with the key and returning to his Iyoui form after making sure there were no security cameras around. The room was pretty bare, with just a small TV, two beds, and a bathroom. No kitchen or anything, which meant they'd be going out for dinner.

"I'm tired," Sylas said, stretching out on one bed. Which was odd; he never really rested. Ever. He didn't sleep, and he hardly ever wanted to lie down...

((Timothy and Sylas, Subject and Tyler? Poor Subject, Tyler kicks.))

Tyler ran into the room, analyzing it quickly and deciding it was of no interest to him. "Subject, do you need to go to the bathroom? If you don't, then we're going to go play at the park, okay?" There was a park just behind the hotel, which was visible from the window in the room. The boy let go of Subject's hand and waited for his answer, which was quite likely to make Subject feel ridiculous.

Timothy climbed up onto the bed next to Sylas, resting his head on the pillow he positioned next to Sylas' torso. That way, they stayed about porportional to when they were standing up. "I'm glad it's not haunted. Ghosts are scary. You're not scary, though, Sylas. You're nice." He gazed up at the man adoringly, glad he had Sylas to keep him safe.

((Subject can sleep on the floor. xDD))

Subject thought carefully, then nodded. "I'm fine. Let's go play!" He darted off, practically dragging the boy along behind him. "Let's go, go, go, go!"

Sylas pulled Timothy close, closing his eyes. "If there were any ghosts in here, I would kill them,"He murmured before drifting off into a heavy sleep.

((Tyler doesn't care.))

Tyler stumbled briefly, then jumped onto Subject's back at the bottom of the stairs. "Be a horse! I'll be a knight! We can fight bandits together, okay, pony?" The boy was rapidly deciding that Subject was the best employee ever. He was much more fun than weasel-Werr had been.

((Neither does Subject. o3o))

"YEAH!" Subject seemed happy enough to run around with Tyler on his back. He got to the playground and slid to a stop next to a ramp that Tyler could climb up. "Go, go!"
