The Forgotten Zodiac

((Aaaaaaaaaand something should happen now.))

Tyler walked on his hands as fast as he could, and, surprising as it was, didn't actually slow down all that much.

Kai tripped over a root and fell on top of Tyler.

Tyler fell over with Kai. "Ouch, Kai!" He pulled himself out from under the Heron and stood back up, then tried to help Kai stand back up. "Are you okay?"

Kai sat up slowly, looking himself over. When he realized that neither he nor Tyler were hurt, he laughed. "Oops!" he said. The guards had paused to look back at the two. One offered Kai a hand up, which the Heron accepted. Israel went over and picked Tyler up. "Are we ready to keep moving? We're halfway there," another guard said.

Tyler wrapped his arms around Isarael's neck, done being grumpy. "C'mon, let's go! I don't like being here. Being here isn't fun. Can we have soup?"

Israel nodded. "Of coruse," he said.

Tyler grinned at him and nodded. "I like soup. Soup is my favorite. Who's gunna make us soup?" He stopped, then his eyes lit up as he thought of something else he wanted. "Can we put bacon in the soup?"

Israel nodded. "Of course. But if we put bacon in it, then Kai and Isa won't eat any," he reminded.

Tyler frowned. "Oh... Could we put bacon next to the soup? Then I could eat the bacon, and Kai and Isa would eat the soup with me. That would make me happy." He paused then, thinking up the question he needed to ask Kai. "Israel, we need to go over to Kai so I can ask him why he won't eat bacon."

"I can answer that. It's because he's a Heron," Israel said, as if that explained everything. "And yes, bacon next to the soup sounds like a plan."

Tyler shook his head. "Nope. I have to ask Kai why he won't. I mean, how come Herons won't eat bacon? Why not?"

"Because they're vegetarians," ISrael said, but nonetheless he dropped back to walk alongside Kai.

Tyler reached over and poked Kai in the shoulder. "Kai? How come you don't eat bacon? Bacon is delicious. You should like bacon. Israel, what's a vegetarian?"

Kai grimaced. "I don't like meat," he answered.

Tyler frowned, horrified at the thought that anyone, especially Kai, could not like meat. "Why not? Do you like fish? Or bacon? Or... I dunno. Israel, what are some other kinds of meat that vegie-tarians don't like?"

"They dislike all meat," he said. Kei grimaced again.

Tyler frowned. "Why not, Kai? What's wrong with meat?"

"It's made from animals."

Tyler nodded. "That's right, it is. They're tasty animals too!" He grinned remembering the various animals he'd seen butchered. "Animals are delicious."

Kai looked like he was going to be sick. After all, he could see what was going on in TYler's head. Israel picked up his pace. "Okay, Tyler, let's leave Kai alone now."
