The Forgotten Zodiac

Kyle stumbled backward, tripping over a stick and falling on the ground. The sword fell over to the side, out of his reach, and Israel's sword was still over his shoulder.

The girl turned around, evidently going to avoid watching her brother get beat up more.

Israel kicked him in ths stomach. "Who's superior now?" he hissed.

The kick sent Kyle onto his side, so he was lying on the shoulder that had been stabbed. He still, however, refused to answer. Israel would likely be there for hours before Kyle gave up his pride. In the dirt, his hand began scraping out various magical symbols.

Israel noticed, and grabbed  Kyle's hands, wrenching them behind his back. "Kai, give me some rope," he said. Kai looked around. "Ah..." he said.

Kyle dropped his head, mananging to complete a symbol with his tongue, grinning when his blood dripped on to the symbols and Timothy began shuddering. "It's... Too... Late. I win." He gasped.

Kai then started singing softly, humming to himself almost. It was a song used to disperse magic. He assumed it would work.

The song would have worked, if the damage hadn't already been done. Timothy's hair darkened and within seconds James was in control. He stood up and launched himself at Israel, trying to knock him off Kyle.

Kai immediately switched songs to the Galdr of Rebirth, hoping to wake Timothy up. Israel jumped back with a startled cry.

Kyle scrambled up, grabbing at one sword and tossing it to James, who turned around and picked up Tyler before anyone could stop him. "Stop singing, Heron. Or should I start taking pieces off your litle friend here?"

Kai shut up immediately. The magic hung in the air, unfinished. Israel pointed his sword at James. "Let him go!" he said.

James glanced at Kyle, then shook his head. "I don't think so. Put the sword down." He pressed the sword deeper against Tyler's throat, beginning to draw blood.

The girl stood up and walked over to Kyle, grabbing his hands and then proceeding to kick him in the shin as hard as she could. "Stop it, Kyle. You're being a jerk!"

Israel dropped the sword obediantly. "Let Tyler go," he repeated. His voice remained soft, almost pleading, but his eyes scathed with anger.

James stared at Israel for a second, then shook his head. "I don't think so. I'll let him go when I feel like it and not before."

"Let him go, James." Kyle stepped away from his sister, trying to avoid being kicked more, though she just followed him. "Your work here is done. Goodbye." The hair bleached again and Timothy returned.

Kai darted forewards immediately and scooped Tyler into his arms. "Okay? YOu okay?" he asked quietly, glaring daggers at Kyle. It was a pretty potent expression for a Heron to bear.

Tyler nodded and wrapped his arms around Kai's neck, getting blood all over the Heron's clothing. "My n-neck hurts." He whimpered.

The girl grabbed Kyle's good arm, then sat down, refusing to let him move. "You're a meanie, Kyle."

Kai began to sing softly to Tyler, to soothe him. He didn't know many healing songs, and having a Galdr broken off in the middle like that that had just happened cost a lot of his energy. He looked over to Isabella, maybe she could heal the boy?

((This is Izzy's cue. He can take Kyle in hand to hand combat, and Timothy's dropped the sword. For Kyle to make James show up again, he'd have to use the spell again, which I don't think he'd be able to.))

Isabella stepped up behind Kai, gently peeling Tyler from Kai and into her arms. She began singing a healing Galdr.

Israel, in the meanwhile, picked up a sword in both hands. He pointed one at Kyle. "You," he hissed. "Deserve to die. Luckily for you, I don't kill opponets who are unable to defend themselves," he said.

Kyle opened his mouth to explain that he was able to defend himself just fine, and that he was merely not using magic to purposefully give himself a disadvantage, but the girl stuck her hands in his mouth. "No talking." She looked up at Israel. "I can tell you where the rope is, but you have to promise that you won't hurt him really bad. Okay?"

Israel nodded. "PRomise," he said.
