Lyre followed at his heels. "So, you're leading the way, Libra. I assume you know the way to go?"

Libra snorted. "Of course I don't know the way to go. I just have a general sense of direction, which I'm going to follow. Either we'll arrive eventually, or you can take over." He shrugged. "I don't really care either way."

"Neither do I," Lyre admitted. She moved forewards to walk alongside Libra and Isabella.

"Ah, well then. If neither of us care, why are we trying to lead? I'll bet Isabella has a map." He turned to Isabella. "You do, don't you?"

She sighed and nodded, reaching into her bag and removing a map, which she held out to Lyre. "If you can show me where we're trying to get, I can probably get us there."

"Here," Lyre pointed to a large canyon area. "Quinn was somewhere around here," she said.

Isabella nodded and circled the area with a pen, then set off to the right, muttering under her breath and tracing lines across the map.

Lyre nodded. "A useful human. If you had told me two days ago, I never would've believed it."

Isabella rolled her eyes. "Who says I'm human? I live forever, wander around with other immortal beings, and carry useful stuff for a living. Also, Libra, you were going completely the wrong direction. We're going the wrong direction now, unless someone has a way to get across a canyon. I suppose we could go through... Hmm."

Libra nodded at her. "You see? Even when telling me something is impossible, she's figuring out a way for me to do it."

Lyre laughed. "Good girl you've gotten, Libra," she nodded.

Libra nodded sagely. "Yes, she was quite a find. Making her immortal worked out quite well too. I wasn't sure if it would. I mean, I knew what it would do, it would make her immortal or kill her instantly, but I wasn't sure which one. It's all a matter of changing the balance inside her, and I wasn't sure how her body would handle that." At Isabella's preparation to turn around and smack him with the map, he hurriedly added. "Not that I'm not glad it worked. I'm very glad it worked. Never been happier. Now don't hit me."

Lyre laughed again. "So, Isa, where is it that we are going, anyhow?" she asked.

"I'm not exactly sure, actually. It's one of the harder to study places is the world, as supposedly there's a demon who lives there. All I know is that people go in and don't come out. Someone was once sent in with a video camera and he found a village full of children. When he came back out, something hit him from behind, then video taped his skeleton and left the tape where it would be found by the others in his group. Strangely though, adults from that village seem to survive to get out and come swear fealty to Borealis. Very strange, though we should be fine."

"Can you know?" Isabella paused and frowned. "Well, I suppose you could. Unless it killed you first, which it might or might not. We don't know what it is that's doing the killing, all we know is that it pulls life energy from bodies in almost the same way Libra was."

Libra shook his head. "There's only one person other than me who can do that, but he could never be a demon. He doesn't have the guts anymore."
