The Forgotten Zodiac

Rynyn grunted as he walked up at Subect at a fast pace. "Go find someplace to sleep if you're so tired." He muttered, standing beide Subject, stopping so that the younger boy was between him and Laurie.

"But you won't come with me, will you?" Subject pouted. "You'll walk on and you won't take me along, because I'll be asleep. Then I'll wake up and be completely alone and maybe Veneno will find me sleeping and he'll eat me while I'm asleep or something!" He looked near tears at this.

Rynyn rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to leave you, Subject." He sighed. "Just go find somewhere. I'll follow you."     Laurie smiled at Subject. "I'll stay with you. Don't worry. Veneno isn't going to get anywhere near you."

"Oh." Subject blinked, his tears gone. He smiled and turned away, running ahead again. He couldn't find anything in particular; they were in a plains area, with large fields of wheat on one side and nothing but grass on the other. "Huh...I had been hoping for a tree," Subject pouted unhappily.

Laurie smiled and ran after Subject, while Rynyn kept himself at a distance as he followed. "It's alright. We'll get trees later. This looks nice for now." Laurie said, trying to make Subject feel better, while Rynyn was silent, still glaring untrustingly at Laurie.

"Just sleep in the grass?" Subject frowned. "I'll get bugs in my hair! No way!" He shook his head quickly, shivering a bit at the thought.

"Then go find somewhere else to sleep, Subject!" Rynyn said loudly, glaring at the boy before laying down in the grass. "I don't care!"
Laurie rolled her eyes.  "Sooo, what are you going to do?" She asked Subject.

Subject pouted, moving away a few yards before laying down and curling up by himself, taking his glasses off so he could sleep. "I'm sorry," He said quietly, though Rynyn couldn't hear him. "I'm sorry for being annoying..."

Rynyn was already out and snorring, a sign he was sleeping deeply. 

Laurie moved to sit down not too far from Subject. "Hey, it's alright. I don't know very well, but he's probably just too tired to conduct himself reasonably. Don't be hard on yourself."

"No, no..." Subject sniffed. "I'm annoying. I get it. Rynyn is right, and that's okay..." He took off his coat and tucked it under his head, to keep the bugs away from his hair. "I can't change, though. I try, sometimes, and it makes me feel terrible and weird and...so I just have to be annoying. I don't want to not be annoying, I can't."

Laurie frowned and her hand went out to Subject's shoulder again. "I don't think you're annoying." She said gently before realizing her hand was on his shoulder. She oulled back and mored a couple yards away and laid down herself.

Subject just curled up, shivering a bit. Before long, he was asleep, but it was obviously troubled; he tossed and turned, whimpering and moaning constantly.

Laurie frowned and watched Subject as he slept not at all peacefully.  She sighed and tried to go to sleep herself, though Subject's whimpering kept her from sleep. "Subject?" She called softly, moving back up beside him and gently attempting to shake him awake.

Subject jerked awake, looking at her with wide eyes. He quickly relaxed, biting his lip. He didn't say anything. He just rolled over and pulled half of the coat over his head.

Laurie frowned, a little worried about Subject. He didn't seem to want to be bothered any more, so she stopped, laid back, and made herself go to sleep.

Dawn came quickly. Subject was the first to wake up, but he lay there for a long while, not wanting to move. He didn't want to wake the others, but dawn was one of the only times his mind was clear enough to think properly. He knew that moving would make the foggy blur of his poor mental state return. So he just lay there, wondering what to do now.

Laurie was asleep on her face, arms over her head because while she was asleep Rynyn's snoring kept bugging her. 
Rynyn was still snoring loudly, sleeping lightly with a stern expression on his face. He was normally an early riser, but after how late they'd been up moving the night before, he wan't going to be able to get himself up.

Subject eventually gave up trying to think. It was impossible, what with Rynyn's snoring. He gave into his own insanity, and sat up, putting his glasses back on. "I'm awake!" He whispered, crawling over to Rynyn and poking his friend's ribcage lightly. "You're sleeping still."

Rynyn jerked defensively at Subject's poke. "Whuuuu?" He muttered, sitting up quickly. He blinked a few times and then looked up at Subject. "Not anymore..." He grumbled, stretching his arms over his head. He exhaled loudly and shook his head.  "Did you sleep well?" He asked, glancing around. He frowned when he saw Laurie asleep a short distance away.

"No," Subject just blinked at him. "I had nightmares." He followed Rynyn's glance and frowned as well. "I thought she had been a dream. I guess not. Rynyn, who is she? Do you know her from anywhere else? I don't think I've ever seen someone like her, living in the silent-people town so boldly like that."
