The Forgotten Zodiac

"Sounds like he meant a lot to you." Laurie said quietly. "Maybe we can get Mister Rabbit for you after we save his sister." She said, gesturing at Rynyn.

"He did, and he does." Subject nodded, looking up at Laurie with a little smile. "Yes, if we have time. The door to the city will be shut tight after Sunday or something, so we have to hurry and save Rynyn's sister so we can go and save mister rabbit. And then I won't have to kill anyone anymore, Mister Rabbit won't let that happen at all. I just maybe have to kill some people to save Rynyn's sister, but that's it. And that's what I have this for," He held up his gun proudly. "It's a Dragunov SVD-137. There've been a few modifications to the barrel and gas chambers, so instead of a 1,300 meter shooting range, it has a 1,500 meter range with decent accuracy, provided the wind conditions aren't too bad. It has ten bullets in the magazine, but I have an extra twenty in my pocket. I haven't cleaned it yet, but after I do, I'll be able to shoot an apple off of someone's head from almost a mile away." He double-checked that the safety was off and that there was nothing in the barrel yet before slinging it back over his shoulder, smiling up at Laurie again.

Laurie listened, smiling as Subject spoke, though she slowed her pace and stepped to the side a bit as he held up his gun. Her smile looked rather nervous as he informed her on his weapon's attributes and how well he could use it. "Wow. How do you know so much about your guns?" She asked, a little more comfortable after he'd put the gun back over his shoulder.

Subject blinked at her, then paused for a moment to think. "I don't know," He said after a long while. "I just know. I know a lot of guns, and weapons, and other stuff. I brought explosives, look..." He dug in his bag and pulled out what looked a little like a block of thick, dried clay. "C4. It has a remote charge, I set it off using this," He held up something that looked similar to a normal cell phone. He put both of them away, and dug for a bit more, pulling out a pistol. "Here we go. It's a standard 9 millimeter, automatic rounds. Seven bullets, one already in the barrel. Do you want it?" He offered, holding it out to her. "You might need it. Ohh, you should see my house. It's small, but I had lots more guns there. And knives. And flashlights, but the batteries died..."

This kid was literally insane, walking around with all of these explosives and guns. As he held out the gun to her, Laurie frowned and shook her head. "No thanks. I'm not good with guns." She said, smiling weakly. She snapped her fingers and shook her head. "I should've thought to bring on of those!" She said when he mentioned dead flashlights.

But since Myst is going to the different place, I might as well tell you; they do some seriously dark stuff there. For Subject, they taught him about a ton of weapons and made him kill things, which drove him to this sad state. He attacked guards, cellmates (the list of names mentioned earlier were all murdered by him), everyone who came into his sights until they gave him Mister Rabbit. That calmed him down enough for him to be detained properly, and then he was broken out of there and stuff.

For Myst, you should make up something different. Use yer imagination. If you need more examples, don't hesitate to ask. :3))

Subject shrugged and put away the gun, blinking at her curiously. "I don't like the dark, I did say that...oh well. It's okay. Flashlights might give away our position anyways, so that's alright."

Laurie nodded. "You're probably right, though you never know when they might come in handy." She said quietly after a little while. After a moment, Laurie sighed and looked up at Rynyn, who still didn't look to be any friendlier. Shaking her head slightly, she again moved to offer him food, knowing it wouldn't be good for him to go a long time without eating. This time, Rynyn accepted.

Subject smiled when he saw this, deciding to look around at where they were going for a bit. They were still marching through farmland, though it was growing a little unkept the further away from the city they traveled. Subject could see a mountain a little ways off ahead of them. He pulled on Rynyn's sleeve, smiling a bit. "That's Wyrmhurst, see it? It should be a little inside the mountain, for the bad prisoners, but the rest are kept in the buildings around the mountain. We just have to break into the main building, find their list of names and find out where Myst should be."

Laurie was quiet as Subject spoke to Rynyn. "I do see...It's still so far off." He said, an irritated growl to his tone. He was getting frustrated, not with Subject, or even Laurie at this point, but his body. Specifically, he was mad at himself for being so weak in that he needed food and that he was wanting to take a break from walking. His legs were getting achy and he didn't like that. He had figured that if he cared enough for his sister, then he wouldn't feel anything that would slow him up, and because he was feeling the pain of extended exercise and lack of food and sleep, he assumed this meant he didn't care enough about Myst. 

"Well...nothing to do but walk, I guess. This is kind of bad, though, we don't have very much cover...perhaps we should loop around and get behind a hill or something. We should be careful, Rynyn," He sounded unhappy and serious again. "It'll be hard to break in if the guards are alerted to our prescense before we can even get there," He paused for a moment, flicking open the cover of his scope and peering at Wyrmhurst through it for a short moment. He continued along after Rynyn, still looking serious.

Rynyn sighed and nodded, while Laurie frowned and followed a foot or two behind. "You're right." Rynyn grumbled, still mad at himself and growing angry with the situation. He knew it wasn't going to be easy from the start, but now that he was face to face with it he was getting peeved.  

"We should also plan our approach properly. We should take out the front entrance guards, plant my C4 and wait for more guards to come investigate. We can blow the entrance open and get in while the guards are distracted figuring out what's going on. If we get in from there, we won't be able to get out the same way, though..." Subject was talking to himself, his frown deepening with every word. Eventually he stopped and plopped down, putting his head in his hands. "I'm thinking too much...it hurts..." He moaned, plugging his ears and shutting his eyes tight. "Shut up, shut up, shut up..."

When Subject announced his plan to get in, Rynyn nodded, listening, but when the boy sat down and started groaning, he stopped and took a step back, unsure what to do to help him.

Instantly Laurie knelt down beside Subject, concerned for him. "Are you alright?" She asked, putting a hand on his shoulder again, trying to help him calm down.

Subject recoiled from Laurie's hand, but suddenly and swiftly grabbed her by the throat with both hands. He was only squeezing with one, though; his left hand was apparently attempting to pull his right away from Laurie's neck. Tears spilled down his cheeks. "I have to...I have to hurt you...I'm supposed to, a-as long as...I'm the one doing it, it's okay, right? S-she said so. She said so..." He let go of his right hand and proceeded to squeeze with both, cutting off Laurie's already limited oxygen supply.

Laurie yelped and tried to move back as Subject grabbed her neck so suddenly. instantly her hands were up, trying to pull his off her throat as she struggled to breathe. She frowned as she tried to understand what he was saying, but her panic for air and how quietly he was speaking made it difficult. Her eyes widened as his other hand closed her wind pipe and her grip on his wrists became more desperate.

Rynyn stood back, watching with slight interest as Subject attacked Laurie. He suddenly shook himself, realizing that Laurie wasn't able to breathe at all, he moved forward and essentially ripped Subject's hands away from Laurie while growling something about not having the time for any of this.

Subject trembled, his hands still in Rynyn's grip. He looked from his hands to Laurie and then to Rynyn, tears still dripping from his eyes. "I...I..." He stammered, having no idea what to say. "She stopped talking," He said, sniffing a bit. He looked up at Rynyn, his gaze ashamed and fearful.

Rynyn dropped one of Subject's hands then pulled the boy to his feet. "Let's go." He said, turning to help Laurie up. Laurie was already up and standing a few yards in the direction they'd been walking, understandably a little afraid of Subject. Rynyn sighed and looked at Subject. "Are you alright?" He asked quietly as he started walking.

Subject swallowed hard, adjusting the gun on his back before following Rynyn. "I...I didn't want to, but...she said that I had to, that she wouldn't leave me alone unless I did that, s-so I did..." He mumbled, looking down and wiping his eyes on his sleeve. "I'm sorry...I won't listen to her any more, I just...I..."

Rynyn nodded slowly. "It's okay, Subject." He said quietly. "But would you mind telling me who 'she' is?" He asked quietly.
Laurie was careful to keep her distance from the boys, though the more they walked the shorter that distance got.

"Her...she...she lives in my head and when I think too much, she comes and tells me to do things, a-and if I don't do them, she hurts me and I don't like being hurt. At all." Subject shook his head quickly. "I...she was one of the people that...was at the different place. She was taking me back to my cell after a test or whatever, a-and...I...I think I probably killed her..."
