Rynyn sighed, then started smirking slightly. "I can do that." He said, with a shrug, then he glanced at Laurie. He frowned. "How do you think you'll be able to do?" He asked, frowning a little deeper at Laurie as he noticed she started shaking.
"I-I have to kill people?" She squeaked.

((DOES THIS MEAN LAURIE GETS TO DIE?))

((...If you want her to?))

"Don't worry," Subject shrugged. "The good thing about being on teams is that we can protect you. Rynyn, try not to get hurt, okay? There isn't much of a medical bay, here. If we get put into my old cell, I have bandages and enough stuff to keep us going for awhile, but we have to be really careful. We should make it through this and during dinner, we can try and make an alliance with another team. It's best not to make enemies."

"All ready? The preliminary rounds will begin in sixty seconds. You will be fighting a mixed bunch, just as you are; one veteran and two newcomers." The speaker announced. "They are waiting. After the sixty seconds are up, this room will be gassed, so don't think about hiding out in here." The second door opened to show a large white room (pads on the walls and painted steel floor, with massively bright lighting from above), with a similar door opening on the other side.

((I'll play two (to fight your peoplez), which one do you want? The vet, or one of the newbies?))

((I dunno. She's gotten annoying, and in this situation, kinda burden-y.))

Rynyn nodded as he listened to Subject talked to Laurie, who nodded, but didn't seem any less scared. She stayed where she was, though she nearly jumped at the speaker's sound again. Once the door opened, she grumbled and put her head down, hesitating to leave the room.

((You can be the vet. I'd fail even worse than I do already.))

((Ah. I have no qualms about you killing her. But Subject will get very, very mad. And it will be very, very bad.

Also, you do not fail. Ever.

Oh, and the round ends when three people are dead. The survivors are put on a team. So either you can replace Laurie, or I can.))

Subject wasted no time in getting out, instantly moving for the corner to his right. Apparently this was a common strategy; an older boy (obviously the veteran) ran to the opposite corner. He and Subject glared at each other for a moment, both of them knowing what they needed to do. They sized each other up; the older man had a massive sword that dragged on the floor behind him, despite the fact that he looked well capable of holding it up. Subject assumed that meant he had limited stamina in the use of such a weapon, though it was obviously old; blood stained the handle, though the blade had been perfectly polished in preparation for the fight.

Subject shifted his stance, making it seem like he was about to charge, but both of them knew the basics. Don't be the first to attack. If anything, the scientists would get bored and either cancel the fight or do something to make it more interesting. They all had the same goal, here. Survival. In other words, their rule of thumb was, 'fight only if you must'.

Stepping out of the opponent's room next was a young girl who looked only a little older than Subject. She looked absolutely terrified, at that. She was holding a sword, but she clearly didn't know how to use it. Perhaps it had been a rushed choice, too; she seemed barely capable of holding it up.

((Awesome. ... :[
I do so. Everyday. Everypost.
Okays.))

Rynyn came out not to far behind Subject, after coaxing Laurie to follow him. He stood not too far from Subject, then looked around, seeing who was were as he tried to figure out how this was going to work.

The last person to step from the other room was another boy, who was clearly the youngest there. He was no more than eleven. He had a long knife, following the examples set by the older members of his team, just on a smaller scale. He had a nasty look on his face as he stared at Subject, Laurie and Rynyn. Again he followed the example of the older members, more specifically the man with the cool looking weapon. He figured that guy knew what he was doing. He stayed back, waiting for something to happen.

((You can if you want to. You don't have to.

You do not. I'm going to slap you for saying that. Why do you think I beg for posts so much? Good grief, Tausmi, I can look at your first post and look at your most recent one and I can SEE improvement. That's crazy. I've been roleplaying for 6 years. If you're not good at this, I don't know what is anymore.

In the case that Laurie dies, who replaces? You should, since you'd have less characters, and I already have one planned...))

Subject flicked his eyes around at them. The younger girl suddenly rushed forward, wailing at the top of her lungs and raising her sword to waist level, about as high as she could lift it. Subject took the blunt end of his pole and rammed it into her side, forcing the blade away from himself and into the wall. With a swift kick from Subject, the girl slammed into the wall. The next moment, her neck was pinned to the wall by the oddly-shaped blade that Subject had taped on. Subject pushed harder then pulled back. The girl collapsed with a gurgle, her blood spilling onto the floor.

"Interesting weapon," The boy with the large sword frowned.

"I could say the same to you," Subject stabbed his weapon between the steel panels on the floor, jumping on top of it and using it as a perch, blancing on it with one foot. "Why don't you come over here, so I can get a better look?"

"Eh...I'd rather not. Me and...newbie here are just fine over here, thanks," He ruffled the boy's hair, smirking. "Number?"

"4-3-6. The two here are new to our...games." Subject sighed, adjusting his glasses. "Is this a stalemate?"

"2-3-3, here. That girl was the newest one over here. As for the stalemate, we'll see. Oi," He looked at Rynyn with a stupid grin. "What do you have there? A duct-tape sling? Looks like it's poor in the defense area, you might want to get that checked on. Don't you think, old man? Can you even hear me, geezer? 'Scuse me, miss," He turned his attention to Laurie. "Miss scaredy-cat, might you tell the geezer that he needs to turn his hearing aid up so he can hear me better? Or you could just tell him that I'm going to kill you both, because I want the returning kid on my team."

((Grr.
I am so fail.
I don't know. I'm reeeelly likering your vet now. He makes me happy, but then again, I dunno. YOu're prolly right, as usual.))

Laurie gagged and looked away as the interaction between Subject and the recently deceased girl took place. Rynyn stared, taking in everything as Subject murdered the girl. He couldn't help but smile slightly. He turned to Laurie as Subject and the boy who knew what he was doing talked, though he kept an eye in that direction. Both he and Laurie did their best to ignore the boy, though his last comment made Laurie tremble a little more. She looked over at '2-3-3' after he'd finished speaking. "I don't think you want the returning kid on your team." She said simply, though she was still shaking.

((You mad at something?

You are not. -slaps you-

Pfft, I have a cooler one planned, like I said. With a weirder weapon. xD))

"Ohh? Why not?" 2-3-3 inquired, smirking a bit. "Do explain. He seems to know what he's doing. You two, on the other hand...well, it's always such a drag, having to teach newbies. What do you say, 4-3-6? Kill them, you can come hang with me and this kid here."

"No." Subject said at once. "And don't get ideas, either. These are my partners and my friends. I don't hurt friends. I...don't want to, and I try not to, anyways..."

"If we wait too long, they could get bored."

"They always do."

((Si.
*dodges slap*
True.))

Laurie shuffled back against the wall again. "He just explained pretty clearly I believe. If you didn't understand you'd have to be worse off than you claim we are." She grunted. She glanced over at Subject, trying to ignore the dead girl who was also in that direction. "What's that mean." SHe asked, not caring about whatever their opponent might say to her ignorance.

((What choo mad about?

Dun dodge thy punishment! The audacity! :L))

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. You lot are all buddy-buddy, super-lucky to be put on the same team. Seen it before. It never lasts," 2-3-3 chuckled. "Don't know that we're being watched, girly? All the time. All. The. Time. Especially for fights. This is a pretty big one, since 4-3-6 has actually returned to this place. So there are a lot of scientists watching, probably. Boredom loves crowds. Once they're all nice and bored, there's a 50-50 chance that this match will end. The other 50 means that they could turn on the firewall, start flooding the place, unleash a wild animal, or otherwise do something that'll lower our chances of not fighting."

"Basically, sometime in the near future, something in this room is going to change to make us fight. Unless we start fighting now." Subject said, pouting. "I can't swim..."

And immediately after he said that, water started spilling from the walls, pouring out in a steady stream from several spots. Subject paled, and 2-3-3 laughed. Though Subject was safe for now on top of his weapon, he would have problems before long. The water would rise and rise. It was already covering the entire floor with a thin layer.

((Subject. Laurie. All that good stuff.
^_^
I HAD AN PLAN TO KILL PEOPLE AND NOW SUBJECT WENT AND RUINED IT!))

The little boy stood beside 2-3-3 and listened intently to what was being said. He stared up the strong member of his team as he attentively took in information on how everything would work, and specifically what he had been telling Subject. If he was trying to get rid of the others so that he could get a stronger person on his team, what would keep 2-3-3 from disposing of him when someone else stronger came along? He started smirking inwardly as he kept his naiive appearance going on the outside.
Laurie bit her lip as water began to flood the room, looking more and more terrified. She knew how to swim, but she wasn't great at it. Judging by 2-3-3's response he'd have no trouble killing her off at any point, no matter the circumstances.
Rynyn was still as silent as ever, thinking.

((Pfft.

PFFT. Learn to adapt to situations that I throw around?))

Subject was frozen in fear of the water, though it really wasn't all that high up at this point. He let out a small squeak of sorts as 2-3-3 suddenly shot forward, taking Subject's fear as an advantage. He was fast, shockingly so. He knocked Subject's weapon out from underneath him, sending the boy tumbling to the ground. Subject wasn't given time to get up again; he only had time to roll over before his own crescent-shaped weapon was slammed down around his neck. It cut slightly into his skin, but didn't go deeper. 2-3-3 had jammed it into the ground, securing Subject in place on the water-covered floor.

"Now that he's out of the way..." 2-3-3 smirked as Subject tried to pull up on the weapon, but found it impossible. Almost as if the scientists were pressing Subject's fear, the water flow increased steadily. 2-3-3 ignored it, propping his massive sword up on his shoulder. Of course, he planned to be done before the scientists could drown Subject. "Shall we play, kiddies?"

((NYEH.
I refuse.))

"I'd rather not." Laurie squeaked, slowly moving to stand behind Rynyn, who glared at 2-3-3 hostily. He eyed 2-3-3's weapon for a moment and scowled at it's size.
"Can I kill the girl?" The younger boy called while splashing through the water to the more populated side of the room. He had an malicious, nearly crazed look on his face now, as he stopped himself a foot or two from 2-3-3's side and stared at Laurie.

((Do what you will. :T))

2-3-3 laughed. "If you're up to it. Go right ahead." He grinned.

Subject kicked about in the quickly rising water, desperately trying to get the makeshift weapon off of himself. "No!" He screeched, though whether he was screaming at the water or the younger boy was unclear.

2-3-3 ignored this, circling around Laurie to line himself up with Rynyn. "Hey, geezer, you can hear me now, right? I'm going to murder you, see. Ready?"

((...I just realized that Rynyn is behaving a lot like Chell in that he's being silent...))

The boy moved closer to Laurie, who gripped her bat nervously and tightly; her knuckles were white. He grinned up at her and stood in front of her for a moment before swiping at her with his knife, though she moved faster than expected and managed to get away from the little brat who was still smirking rather unnervingly.
Rynyn followed 2-3-3 and continued to glare silently, gripping his small knife with one hand.

((Shame on you. Stuff like that will get you blocked by SOPA. xDD))

2-3-3 left Laurie to the other kid, and charged forward again. He was slowed by the water that was now around his ankles, but he was still rather quick on his feet. He swung his sword downwards, a wild grin on his face.

"No! Don't hurt her!" Subject wailed, struggling to keep his ears clear of the water.

((xD))

Rynyn easily stepped to the side and continued to move away, avoiding 2-3-3's attack. He didn't make any move back, because he was still thinking about the best way to get him without getting his sword.
The boy glanced down at Subject for just a moment, still grinning evilly, then turned back to Laurie, who was still trying to get as far from him as possible, though it was clear she didn't want to get very far from Subject. Suddenly he ran after her, making her scream and take off running the other way.

2-3-3 pulled his sword out of the floor, shifting it so that the sword was dragging on the floor behind him again. He had to do that, so he could move properly. He moved forward again, this time swinging from the side.

Subject screamed and thrashed, unable to get his own weapon away from his neck. It was stuck firmly in the ground, even with the water rising up around it. Speaking of the water, it had crept over his ears. He couldn't even hear Laurie scream, everything was a muffled mess. Subject forced himself to calm down, knowing that he needed to hyperventilate so he could last longer once the water was up over his mouth. He forced the air rapidly through his lungs, ignoring the light-headed feeling he got.

Rynyn took a step back, narrowly dodging a horrible wound. Instead he was left with a relatively minor cut across his abdomen, though he didn't seem to notice the red welling up and dripping down his sliced shirt. He continued to watch 2-3-3 as he began to regain control of the weight of his sword.

Around that time Laurie, who was watching the boy running after her instead of where she was going, ran into 2-3-3 from behind before he could get his sword managable again. She screamed again as both she and 2-3-3 were knocked to the ground.

2-3-3 let out a yelp as he was knocked over. He didn't lose his grip on his blade though, and was quick to get back on his feet. Before Laurie could get up again, he brought his soaking wet boot down on her stomach. "Don't play with your prey, kid. Rule number two." He growled in annoyance.
