The Forgotten Zodiac

Riahn looked back to see how the fire was spreading, and was calmed somewhat. "We'd be able to tell if it was going to burn us alive by now, right?" He queried nervously. How Vrach knew all of this was beyond him; but, at this point, the mechanic apprentice would have taken information from the /devil/. 

"No, I think we're fairly safe here," Vael shook his head. "But we should keep moving. I know of a place we'll be safe at, just follow me. We should be there soon enough." He glanced behind him, frowning a bit. They were being followed. He could sense the Iyoui, Sylas, following along behind them. He was keeping his distance, though. If he had wanted to strike, he would have earlier...what was he doing? Vael wondered, frowning still. Perhaps it was injured...

Riahn frowned and looked over at Vael, then spoke. "How? I-I mean, how do you know of that place?" As far as he knew, Vael had been completely on the airship and he had no idea of the man's life outside it, which was why he had no idea how Vael would know of a refuge. "And how do we know it would be safe?"

"Because I used to live there, Riahn. Calm down." Vael sighed. "Now please, be quiet. We'll be there soon enough." By soon enough he meant an hour; the sun was setting by the time they arrived at the base of the mountain that Vael had seen. The trees had given way a while ago, and the treeline was visible in the distance. They were standing at the edge of a feild, the valley before the rocky mountain. A cave was visible from here, nestled among the rocks. There was Malya showed no signs of waking up, even by now.

He calmed down slightly, but not by much. After a few seconds, he looked over at Vael curiously. "Why would you live out here? This is the middle of no where!"

"Exactly why I lived here, boy." Vael sighed in annoyance. "Not everyone is raised mainly on a ship. I'm...older than I look."

"So am I, but I don't think anyone can really tell. I don't disguise myself as a human." Sylas revealed himself from behind them, apparently having disguised himself as a daisy. He was wearing a malicious grin, but he also looked injured. He was holding his leg at a funny angle, and he reeked of blood.
