Karsenir didn't bother looking into Syn's room. He didn't care too much to see, and he wasn't going to put forth the physical work to move forward and look. He looked down at Avis though, as he felt her tensing from being nervous since she was leaning on him. He sighed and shut his eyes, not knowing what else to do now. He needed to rest more anyway if they intended to move out soon.

Eventually, Avis decided to rest more, too. She shifted away from Karsenir a little bit and dozed off, having nothing better to do. "Avis," Syn hissed, shaking her roughly. "Avis! You need to leave." "W-what?" Avis woke groggily. "I was asleep..." "I noticed. But it's the full moon. I can't believe I forgot...you have to leave. Sleep in the cellar, or something. Karsenir!" Syn started shaking the man next to her, a little more roughly. "Wake up! You can't be in the house, you have to go, now!"

Karsenir grunted loudly, slowly waking when he heard Avis and Syn as Syn woke her up, telling her to leave. "H-Hey, I'm up! I'm up!" Karsenir groaned, grabbing Syn's arms and pushing him back. "Where do you want us to go?" Karsenir asked, a moan in his voice as he forced himself up as quickly as he could manage. Frowning at how much energy moving so much drained, Karsenir leaned against the wall near Avis.

"Into the cellars, out of the house, just--" Syn suddenly lurched, turning away. He struggled to the front door, pausing for a moment to hold his head before slamming the door shut. "Stay inside, then!" He roared at them. Avis flinched and shifted closer to Karsenir, biting her lip as she watched the light fade outside. What on earth was going to happen? Was it really that bad, it being a full moon?

Avis quickly found that it really was 'that bad'. As the dwindling light turned to moonlight, there was a chuckle from outside. It knocked on the door slowly. "You locked me out. Why would you do such a thing?" The door rattled, and Avis pressed ever closer into Karsenir. This time, though, Karsenir saw it too. Ghostly white, they appeared as little more than mostly transparent blobs reaching under the door, but within seconds they took more humanly forms, blank faces forming quickly. They approached, moaning softly, twisting around and moving so that they surrounded both Avis and Karsenir. Avis went tense again, whimpering softly. "Let me in, let me in!" The voice outside said, the door rattling again. It sounded...desperate. More like Syn's, too. "Don't hurt them, l-let me in!"

Karsenir moved in front of Avis, glaring at all the forms moving towards them. He looked down at Avis, frowning concernedly at her when she whimpered, pressing closer to him. He growled and turned his attention back to the moaning souls around them.

"Oh? Fine. That didn't work. You're not as gullible as the last people who came here...oh well. I feel so...alive!" The laughing increased for a moment, then there was a sharp crack as a white scythe smashed into the door, the blade clearly visible from Avis' and Karsenir's side. "This door is weak...I can break it easily. Why didn't I think about that before?" The door was literally ripped off the hinges. Normally, Avis would have trouble seeing what was going on, but Syn seemed to have light emitting from him or something, because she saw him just fine. He was wearing entirely different clothing; a pure white cloak, shirt, pants and boots, and a cruel, evil smirk. His hair had turned white too, which made his dark eyes seem extremely out of place. "You're not supposed to be here. No one is. Criminal little me keeps killing people not in the death book for straying onto his perfect little island. Oops, did I just say that out loud? Oh well. Those people were fine and all, but you..." He raised a hand and pointed at Karsenir. "You're huge. The blood you carry around will be so nice to see painting my walls..."

Karsenir glared at Syn as he smashed through the door. He shook his head slightly, frowning angrily as he stepped inside. When Syn commented on Karsenir's size he grunted, irritated by that. "Well come and get it then!" Karsenir growled. If Syn would get out of the doorway they had a decent chance of getting away; he was feeling good enough to run if he had too, and he knew he would need to so he could keep Avis safe.

"Gladly!" Syn grinned, blasting forward like a whirlwind. His scythe nicked Karsenir's arm, causing a few drops of green liquid to seep from the cut. "How odd. It isn't red. I would be troubled, but hold on a moment," He caught a droplet with his fingers and licked it up quickly, smiling in satisfaction. "Still tastes pretty normal. Perfect, then!" He looked past Karsenir at Avis. "Don't worry, darling. You'll be next." He tugged his weapon out of the wall as Avis let out a cry of fear, not daring to move away from Karsenir.

Karsenir growled at Syn and backed to the side, away from the blood-thirty creep. He didn't feel any pain from the small, bleeding cut Syn had made on Karsenir's arm, as his skin was tough enough to handle it. After only moments the sliced skin, as small as it was, healed itself. Karsenir's breathing speed increased as he stared at Syn. The green color of his blood tinted Karsenir's face as Syn spoke. "Just get away, you freak." He growled to Syn, keeping himself in front of Avis protectively.

"Hum, let me think about that..." He looked thoughtful for a moment, then swung his scythe down at Karsenir's chest. A fatal wound if Karsenir didn't move. And of course, as he swung, the word 'no' clattered out of grinning sharp teeth. To Avis, it was all like a bad dream. Syn's glowing eyes, the dark, evil demeanor he had taken on...it was too much.

No fatal wounts were created on any part of Karsenir or Avis as he moved to the side, shoving Avis with him. "Well then." Karsenir said nothing beyond that, pulling Avis up onto his back and darting for the torn-open door before saying anything else or giving Syn and time to respond. He looked back over his shoulder at the house that was quickly disappearing behind them as he was moving much faster than a normal human could. "This is bad." He grunted, slowing quickly to conserve energy.

"Wh-what are we going to do? Karsenir, the drop!" She wailed before the gorge came into view. There was no way for them to cross, not like this. "Run, run, as fast as you can..." Syn's voice echoed out, carried by the wind. "You can't hide from me, I'm the Reaper, you see!" His shrill laughter sent chills down Avis' spine. She looked over her shoulder. She didn't see Syn, but she knew he would be close behind...

Karsenir came to a stop a good distance from the edge of the island, knowing it was there. "Well then." He sighed, catching his breath when he stopped, looking back from where they had come. Considering the bags that Syn had packed for them, Karsenir thought attempting to leave without those bags wasn't a good idea. He sighed again and shook his head, watching all over, waiting for Syn to come into view again.

"Isn't...he supposed to regain control of himself soon?" Avis questioned, holding onto Karsenir tightly. "There has to be something we can do to stop him...you can't run much farther, or you'll be stuck without energy for another week!" She tucked close to him, especially when a thick fog settled around them. More of Syn's doing, obviously. Syn himself approached a moment later, smiling. "I want more of your blood, Karsenir. It's tasty. Just give it up already, I'll make it easy on you!"

Karsenir shrugged, glaring into the fog. "I don't have any idea." He grunted, watching for Syn. When he finally showed up, Karsenir growled and watched him closely, ready to move at any moment that Syn made a dangerous move towards them. "Do you now? Any particular reason you don't seem to find your own blood quite so 'tasty?'" Karsenir growled back.

"I don't have any." Syn stopped in his tracks, watching Karsenir carefully. "I cut myself and cut myself and cut myself. I bled out. I'm dead now. But I'm also a Reaper...I can't kill myself. So even if I don't have any blood to bleed out, I cannot cause death to my own body." He started walking forward again. Avis pulled her wits together. "P-prove it!" She yelped as Syn was raising his scythe. "Prove what? That I can't kill myself?" Syn stared at her, frowning. "Y-yeah! Don't we deserve...a final wish or something?" "You've read too many books. But...I suppose I do have the time...but only if you two agree on the same thing." Syn watched them both carefully, his eyes focusing on Karsenir.

Karsenir blinked and looked down at Avis when she spoke, though he jerked his head up when Syn moved forward and he lightly pushed Avis back with him as he stepped away, still glaring at Syn. "Okay." Karsenir narrowed his eyes at Syn. "Jump off the island where those dogs fell when Avis and I first got here. Sound good?" He asked, looking down at Avis behind him for a second, not trusting Syn enough to look away for and longer than a moment.

"Yes! I agree to that. Same final wish, s-so..." Avis stammered, peeking around Karsenir fearfully. "Hmm...I suppose I can't argue with that. Fine then. You want me to jump into the gorge? Then I will." Syn bowed once, then walked straight past them, walking the few feet to the edge of the rift between lands. Then he just...stepped right off. Plummeted like a rock, too. One second there, the next gone. Avis let out a sigh of relief, sinking to her knees. "I...I don't like that guy..." Her hands slipped around Karsenir's right, and he could feel her trembling.
