The Forgotten Zodiac

Seria gently touched Lexi's forehead, then said "Yes, she's completely drained. She's too weak to be a proper healer, but I'm prepared to take her under my wing. She already asked if I could teach her, and after consideration of her skills, I decided to help out. How could I refuse?" She sighed, then looked over as Welk pushed all the way up, shaking his head to clear it. "Sheesh..." he muttered, flicking his stubbed tail. "So many distractions... I just want to sleep!"

Cynyr chuckled, closing his good eye and leaving his empty one to loom, then tilted his head at Seria and said "I'm sure she'll be perfect, just like you."

Seria bit her tongue before she could say 'But I'm not perfect.'

"I feel like we should sleep in a different room. At least the next attackers will have to search for us, rather than knowing right where to go," Werr smiled a bit, returning to leaning against Welk. "I'm tired, too, little brother...and Lexi needs sleep, as well. Let's get off to bed."

"Here, let me," Nate reached down and picked Lexi up gently. "Don't worry, I'll put her next to my room. She'll be safe."

"Alright...thank you, Nate." Werr sighed.

Welk nuzzled the side of Werr's face gently, saying "Come on, we'll bunker down near Cynyr and Seria's room. They won't mind."

"We don't," Cynyr said, standing slowly. "But first, I'll take care of...things."

He meant Ina's body and they knew it, but nobody questioned him. Instead, Welk nudged his friend up onto his back, knowing he could handle the weight. Which wasn't a lot, actually, but in his tired state...

Welk shook it off and followed Seria down the hall, his foot-falls heavy.

Werr held on tightly, but he was asleep before they reached the other room.

When he stirred again, the Elder was hanging over him, his long silver beard brushing against Werr's neck.

"Ahh!" Werr jumped up at once, wide-eyed. "Oh...Elder...it's just you. Okay." Werr puffed, shaking his head. "Was there...something you needed?"

"Oh, nothing. Aries is recovering still, I decided to take it upon myself to see that you woke up at the proper time. The guards are prepared for presentation, and breakfast is ready."

"I'll see both at the same time. No one would care, right?"

"I doubt that. Oh, and your majesty...word of your ventures from two years past have reached the far-off land of Bulliet. Or, as I understand they prefer to pronounce it, 'Bulletate'. A messenger has arrived from said land." The Elder held up a letter and cleared his throat. He looked over the words then lowered his hands and looked at Werr. "Basically, they request support. Their land is under seige, and--"

"Can I just have breakfast first?" Werr interrupted him, suddenly looking very weary, in spite of the fact that he just woke up.

"...Of course, your highness."

((Well, I didn't have anything else, so...shall we proceed with the epilogues, if we were going to do such a thing?))

((Sure, let's get in some last minute friendly-tones first. : D ))

Welk lifted his head and pushed at the Elder with his paws, saying "Come on, Jack, leave us alone for a little while. We're tired. Get ouuuut. Besides, it'll take a while for us to prepare to leave for anything." He flicked his stumped tail, rolling around on the bed before putting his head against Werr's leg, rubbing his forehead and chin against him.

Naybrin peeked sleepily up from the basinet that had been provided for him to sleep in. He didn't seem to mind that he was sleeping in a baby bed; in fact, he really liked the super soft pillows. He was too old to give a care about sleeping conditions, anyways. Whatever supported his old bones, he had decided.

Cynyr poked his head into the room, his single eye wandering to glance at his brothers.

"Good morning, Cynyr," Werr said with a smile, which only widened as the Elder (whos name was in no way 'Jack') turned and left. "Oh, you're awake too, Naybrin? Even better." He grinned, lying back down in spite of the Elder's words. He really was tired; all the adventuring, all the excitement, it was all gone. It left Werr with a serious need to sleep as much as he possibly could, which probably meant he would also be falling asleep at the presentation, at lunch, in the library, during letter-writing, and perhaps even dinner.

Cynyr padded over, looking just as tired as they did. He rested his head on the edge of the bed, then he and Welk glanced over as Naybrin snored. He had rested his head back down and had fallen back asleep. For a species that could sleep for several days straight, it wasn't a big deal.

Welk laughed, then squeaked as Cynyr jumped up onto the bed and rooted around under the covers, finally settling down with a sigh. Werr felt him lay a paw over his legs, along with resting his head against his knees. Welk smiled, then curled up right next to Werr and rested his head on the boy's chest, draping a paw over him. He let his wings slip free of their internal holds, spilling out in a golden wave behind him.

Werr smiled and closed his eyes, quite happy to be with his friends. Safe and sound, at long last. Perhaps now the unrest of it all would leave them be. It certainly felt peaceful as Werr started to drift off again. With both of his half-cat friends here, he felt...safe.

"Hey," He mumbled, smiling widely. "You two are great friends. Don't ever leave...okay?"

"No way!" Welk said indignantly, pretending to look shocked. "You couldn't make me leave." He purred and brushed his head under Werr's chin, closing his eyes and purring.

"And you think I would?" Cynyr's voice floated from under the covers. "The answer is no."

Welk purred and gave his brother a slight nudge, saying "And we're glad to have you, Shadow-Step."

"Whatever you say, Fire-Heart," Cynyr answered, smiling. "Dark-Eyes too."

Werr smiled, then sighed and closed his eyes again. "I won't leave either, then. Because if you left...I would have to follow. You know?" He murmured, then rolled over so that his face was buried in Welk's mane. Peace at last.

today was a good day, I think. I woke up, took a shower, didn't bother eating breakfast, sat down in my awesome pink chair, posted for my best friend, wrote in my book, posted again, wrote more, uploaded chapters on deviantART, hugged a bunny (also my best friend), rode in the car to a doctor's appointment, came home, finished drawing a picture, posted again, uploaded more chapters, loaded the picture into my computer and started coloring it, played Minecraft with my all of my friends, then uploaded MORE chapters and spent the other amount of time drawing.

It was a busy day today. xD And I'll get right to work uploading more chapters tomorrow so we can begin the next roleplay. I'm at the half-way point now. :3

Well I lurves ya. And Little Girl is blowing kisses, so you can have some of those too. -nuzzles like the image I sent you- Love you~

((Dear Trin,

I had a good day, too. I did a lot. After you and Jecl left, Nerd, Hg and I continued playing Trouble in Mineville. Our favorite map so far is Sky Temple, because we can all jump onto the one floating island and just stick it out there. I have a lot of fun playing with these people, but it would be more fun with you.

But tomorrow, from 8 to whenever we're done, I will be leaving for a Medical School summit. And in the evening, starting at 6 or 7, there is a lock-in that I have comitted to. Soz...yeah. I'll have all in between to play and giggle and give you advice with. : D I love you.

I am SO CLOSE to being done with the chapters. Prepare the imaginating, because I'm hoping that tomorrow, we'll be able to start the next book. 8D It'll be so much fun. I have so many things planned for this. So many wonderful, wonderful things. Like death, and murder, and new characters, and old characters having character development, and pain, and pain, and tender moments, and pain...

Did I mention pain?

Well. I'll let you in on a secret I have planned for Luen. So he used to be a wolfling, right?

What would happen if say, a kirin was bitten by a werewolf? A kirin that used to be a wolf?

I imagine we'll find out. ;D

I can smell the end now. I'm at the part where they're going after Lu to get Ophile's powers. That's much closer to the end now, eh? ;D We'll be roleplaying again soon, I'm certain of it. Meanwhile, -huggle huggle huggle- and -nuzzle- :3

I only have two new characters in mind so far, but I'll think up more, I imagine. Mostly I'll be giving Dark a bigger role. My two new characters are Dmitry and Mirage Shoko. I'm not sure of their last name yet. They're brother and sister, and I say this now because it's not a secret and will be said right at the beginning. I will not tell anything else because it's all important. xD

((Dear Trin,

I do not write these for you nearly as often as you do for me. I just hope you know that I love and treasure each one. <3 As for the roleplaying, that's good. ^^ And here I picked on you for being so far behind! (Still sorry about that, by the way.)

I'm still not certain about the majority of them, but the assassin was going to be a Lerloch of some kind. Probably not a cat. And the group will want to keep an eye on him (even though he's old) because he'll be constantly trying to sneak away to kill the emperor that Werr will have treatied with. xD The other character was going to be a different Lerloch, probably a more docile one. I was thinking a puppy, so Ophile can have someone to take under his wing...so to speak. (No, he won't be getting wings. : P) But yes, that girl will be the one who guides the group around and tells them all they need to know about the kingdoms, the war, and to answer any questions they may have.

And for interaction's sake, they will all spend a year learning the native language, and most people know at least Gregorian-styled speech, which is easy enough for Romanians to understand if they pay close attention. But there will be times that others will prattle on in languages that confuse the others.

Not Werr, though. xD He's Werr. Super powerful mind, underneath that cloud of mental hindering emotions (which is due to the trailing effects of the curse set on Kiri's mind). Yesyes, he'll memorize the entire language and all of it's dialects and he won't be confused one bit. : P

Whelp, this is a terrible way to conclude this.
