The Forgotten Zodiac

Werr watched her in silence for a few long moments, then stood with a sigh and walked over. "Don't sit on the floor," He murmured to her, offering his hand to help her up. "That's no good for your back."

"She's not an old hag, you silly boy," Snider's voice laughed from behind. Werr straightened up immediately and took a step back, standing in front of Briana almost protectively. Guards immediately rounded on the Demigod, but Snider raised his hands in innocence. "Calm down, you puffed up kamekazes. I'm only here to give something to Werr." He tutted, then held out the item.

The staff. Werr moved to take it, but the second he touched it, there was a flash of light. The glow from the staff was instantly gone, and the orb at the top shattered. "Oops." Snider sneered, dropping the parts. "How sad...we're going to have fun, Werr. Everyone will think you're going crazy due to the loss...this will be...highly amusing." He raised his fingers and snapped, then skipped off into the castle. The guards looked about in confusion; to them and Briana, it was as though Snider had vanished.

Werr picked up the broken staff, realizing that the powers were gone. Of course...its maker was dead. Werr sighed heavily, then, after careful consideration, offered the staff to Briana. "You...you have a long journey home. You should know that Welk made this...I want you to have it. You'll make better use of it than me..." He murmured.

Briana looked up at him, tears still brimming in her eyes, her short blonde hair frizzing out at the edges just like Welk's always did. She hesitantly held out her slender, delicately-clawed fingers for the staff, and when it was in her hands, she immediatly starting crying harder, clutching the staff close. She slowly looked up at Werr again, then set the staff against the wall for a moment and cupped her hands over Werr's cheeks, staring into his eyes.

"My son loved you," she murmured. "When he wrote to me, he would expound constantly on his dear brother and the little girl who he had taken as his girlfriend. You two were the only things he ever spoke about. Werr and Isslia, and Cynyr was in there many times too. I couldn't get him to write about anything else..." She sighed, then pulled Werr into her arms and stroked the back of his head, her tears falling lightly against his neck.

She nodded, pressing her cheek to the side of his head. "I would've come..." she murmured, closing her eyes tightly. "He was all I could ever think of...the little one I had lost...I wanted him so badly, but I could never forcibly take him from...from his...family..." Her voice broke when he said that, and she hugged Werr tighter, as if somehow hugging her son through him.

Briana clutched the staff close, tears continuing their trek down her face. She looked down at the beautiful trinket in her hands, then sighed and pressed her cheek to it, turning and picking up her bag in order to walk away. Out of the castle she walked, heading to her lonely little home, with only her memories to keep her company.

Memories. In the end, that was all they had of him. Welk Kaelen was dead, and most of what they had left were memories. Not just Werr, but everyone. The months that followed would be filled with unrest and unease, but at least the castle was at peace once more.

((Dunno if you wanted it done there or not, so I did it anyway and we can add more if you want. Sorry if this isn't what you were planning. .3.

But yep, that would be the stopping point. This book is shorter than the other two, oddly enough. xD Oh well. It won't become a trend. o3o So, uh...yep. -looks up, then down-

I miss this page already. xD I must have it again, and soon, or else...something. Something I'm too tired to think of.

I love the picture you 'comissioned' me to draw of Welk and Isslia. If my printer would stop being a butt and decide to scan it in, you would see it. ono It. Is. The. Adorable.

I also drew am amazing picture of the Shadow Stallion, and I really want to upload it. It's so cool. I love him~ ♥ xD

I need to draw Welk and Isslia more. They really are one of my most loved couples.

Also, when Welk and Isslia get married eventually, I do think we should go a little bit further into the moment with them when they go to do it for the first time between them. I feel like something like that is, obviously, a HUGE thing for Isslia. It's her true love, the man she married, and it's something she's had the bad end of in the past. For her, it's the first time that it's not someone abusing her. She's actually allowing Welk to be with her in such a way, and, like he promised, he's showing her the right way to love. So I think we should definitely expound on that moment, even slightly, when it comes up. At the very least, make it pointedly known that they are going to do that.

Just my thoughts. :3
