Airlia smiled, quite pleased with her idea. If Cynyr ever lost his mind, the mark would bring him back here, where they could take care of him. She thought briefly that she should give the same mark to the other members of the group, but she had no time to ponder on the notion before Obelisk opened the door.~"Good morning. Fawn has been buried, and I stood vigil overnight with Malice. Fawn's spirit has...moved on. Regardless, I am prepared. We are searching for young miss Isslia before we move on to Gossain, I imagine. I'm very happy to see Welk alive and well."

Cynyr lifted his head and gazed at the eternal being, then nodded and said Alright. You're welcome to speak to him as you wish, you know. He's more than made amends for the past. He glanced over his shoulder at the sleeping half-cat, smiling. Welk twitched in his sleep and turned over, cuddling up against Werr as tightly as he could manage. A light sense of his current dream entered Werr's mind; the light, arid smell of the ocean, and flying fish.

"Between attending to the burial and ensuring that Tasia and Lily know to keep an eye on Malice, I've been busy. And I don't wish to disturb his sleep now." Obelisk shrugged. "I'll be waiting near the gates. I have some...thoughts to sort out. I'll not disturb you any longer."~With that, he turned on heel and swept away. Ophile shook his fur out and padded after him.~Werr, in the meantime, hugged Welk as tightly as he possibly could, a wide smile on his face.

Welk started to purr a moment later, a sound that had been missing from the boy's life for about four months. A few minutes later, the string of feeling along the bond disappeared and Welk's eyes opened, staring blurrily ahead without seeing. His vision cleared quickly, and he stretched with a slow, cat-like agility before curling in a ball against Werr, one hand twinned into his friend's shirt.

"Good morning, Welk," Werr smiled happily, scratching his furry friend behind the ears. "How are you feeling? Ready to go find Isslia?"~"Welk? You're okay?" Airlia walked a little closer. "I...feel like I need to do a quick checkup. Can I?" She questioned, smiling slightly.

Welk didn't protest, merely because he was still a tad out of it. He closed his eyes at Werr's touch, giving a tired purr and smiling, flicking his long, fluffy tail. Cynyr came over and stroked his blonde hair back, then carefully tugged Welk upright so Airlia could check him over properly. It reminded Cynyr of times when Welk was younger; he was quiet and prone to staring, just letting his limbs be moved around as others wanted them. He had been like that whenever he was sick as a child.

Airlia was quite thorough; she checked him for scrapes, bruises, scars, or anything of the sort. Then she took his temperature, examined his throat, the curvature of his spine, even. When she was satisfied, she stepped back and smiled. "Perfectly healthy, and in good shape. I should have suspected as much, naturally..." She shook her head. "You're perfectly okay, Welk. That's good..."

"Never been better..." he said sleepily, attempting to give a drowsy smile, and when he made to stand, he just ended up collapsing backwards against Werr. He didn't fall back asleep, but just cuddled against the boy, purring non-stop.

Perhaps when Airlia examined him, she would notice that every scar he had ever received had vanished. The 'X' over his chest from Malice, the long, thin line from Relic tearing him open, all of them were gone. Not that it was a bad thing, but it showed how thourough Naybrin's powers had been.

Werr grinned, stroking Welk's hair back. "That's fine, then. Great, actually." He helped Welk stand. "Come along. Let's go see if we can't get Zephyr to take us to track down Isslia. Okay?"

Welk's eyes brightened at once, and he nodded and flicked his tail happily. But he didn't start walking until after he had hugged Werr as tightly as he could. It had been really scary, being stuck in that lifeless void for so long. He felt like he had been elsewhere, but he couldn't remember it at all. All he knew was the cold darkness and being afraid...

"Hmph. I'm sensing something very odd, Zephyr. Very odd indeed...I just can't quite put my finger on it. Can't you sense it too?" Vuker peered up at Zephyr. He was back in his scaled form, but the Amnarian who had helped him was quite mistaken in his shape; he looked like a Dragonian with overly large claws. They were currently reattempting the potion, but finding someone (with hands) that knew about Vuker's scaled form was proving to be a challenge. Vuker himself didn't seem to mind.~"I don't feel anything," Nate frowned.~"I do! I feel like we can't spare any time. Like there's this big clock counting down, and we've only got a few days left..." Vuker frowned. "But what kind of clock measures days as well as minutes and hours?"

Zephyr carried Vuker with a soft, sad air, still upset over Naybrin's death. He lifted his gaze and tilted his head at the drakeling, saying "I don't know. Perhaps if I channeled my new powers, I could see what's going on, but...it would be hard. I don't yet understand them completely." He sighed, looking over at Nate.

"You'll get them eventually," Nate reassured his massive friend, smiling slightly. He turned in surprise as Werr came in with Welk and Cynyr. "There you lot are. Are we ready to move out?"~"I'd say so. Our first task is finding Isslia," Werr nodded. "Then we go to Gossain."~"But...the poison," Nate attemped to remind Werr of the magical malady that was going to kill him soon enough.~But Werr shook his head, not wanting to hear a lick of it. "I insist. I trust we'll find Isslia in good time. We have Spy, after all. That little friend of ours is the key to finding anyone, you know that."~"But if the poison starts to affect you-"~"We'll deal with it then." Werr insisted. "We MUST find Isslia. Zephyr, I've been meaning to ask you...are you still okay with taking us? I understand if you would hesitate to accompany us..."

"No, I can take you," Zephyr said, nodding his head once. "It is the least I can do. Welk deserves to have his love in his life again, just as you, Dark-Eyes, deserved to have him returned to yours." The dragon gave a small smile as Werr hugged Welk tightly, to which the half-cat gave a purr and flicked his tail.

"Well, yes, but..." Werr frowned.~"Werr wants to know if you'll be okay accompanying us all the way to Gossain," Nate explained. "Which, he will. Is everyone ready to go, in the meantime?"~"I think so," Werr nodded. "You know Forin, always prepared. Especially now..."~~Luna, ever the wise one, had chosen to explore the castle a bit more. Learn the lay of the place she was to stay in. Zex was following her, which she was aware of, but at least he was keeping his distance. Luna wandered here and there, drawing out a mental map. But soon she came to a set of stairs that were very much unfamiliar. They were not the stairs to the dungeon, nor were they the stairs to Ink's room. More intriguing was the large sign on the door that said, 'Keep Out, or else!'~"I don't think going down there is a good idea," Zex said quietly. "Even /I/ haven't been. It says to keep out on that sign, so..."

Luna glared at him, then said "Like I'm going to listen to the guy who kidnapped me." She crept forward and tried the doorknob. Upon finding it locked, she quickly pulled a pin out of her hair and pushed it into the lock, working it slowly until it clicked. She then pushed it open, her long silver hair flashing as she disappeared inside. It was fairly dark, really, and she could hardly see a thing. She didn't care if Zex followed her in or not, but personally, she hoped he stayed out.

But Zex followed anyway. He trembled as he trotted after her, his eyes not adjusting to this pitch-black darkness. He couldn't do anything but follow the sound of Luna's feet as she walked with confidence ahead. She came to a turn, and soon, a tunnel that descended into the ground. Deeper than Ink's tunnel, that was for sure. How many secrets did Gossain hold?~Soon enough, Luna found herself hearing the familiar rumbled snore of a dragon. Sooner still, they found said dragon. Sitting curled up atop a pile of bones. Most of them were animal, but a few were human-shaped. A fire blazed nearby, casting red light over the horrific scene.~This dragon was small, much smaller than most. A whole head shorter than the largest size Lutrez would ever be. It was still quite young, so perhaps it was still growing. Its golden scales caught the light as it shifted, bringing its head up to look at the intruders.~"Oh, wonderful, food time. What did you bring me? A cow? Pig?" It brought its face close to the two of them. Zex stumbled back, trembling. "...Nothing? Nothing?! I've been waiting a whole year! No food! If you're going to visit, at least have the decency to bring a snack!" He roared and attempted to advance, but the chains on his tail, neck and feet held him still. He fumed, smoke pouring from his nostrils, but that was no good, either. The scar on his neck was obvious; his fire gland had been sliced out. "Tch...not that you can understand me...shallow humans. I WANT FOOD." He roared again, and Zex nearly ran for it then and there.

Luna flinched at the roar, but her usual anger swelled at once. "SHUT UP!" she roared back at him, in dragon tongue. "If you would hush for a few seconds, I could tell you that I'm a captive here too! I didn't even know there was a dragon down here, so how could I bring you food?! Now sit down and calm down, for the Divine's sake!"

The dragon stared at her, slack-jawed. Now that it was sitting still, Luna could see that it was badly scarred, cut, and dreadfully underfed. Its wings were limp on the ground, unused for many a year and obviously so. But, after taking a moment to let Luna's words registered, it lowered its haunches to the ground, the rest of him following. He held his head low in submission. "I'm sitting. I am." It said solemnly.

Luna sighed, saying "Good," shortly before moving forward. Her hands found his nose and held his muzzle in her delicate palms, and she was somehow able to feel his entire body through this one touch. It was an ability she had always had, but usually Amnairians had somewhat similar powers, or the ability was copied.

She was the only one who had powers like these.

She bravely stroked his scales, running her nails all along his cheeks and over his eyes, even fondling his ears. She moved against him and ran her hands along his neck, moving to his body and around his tail, finally travelling up his other side in order to take his muzzle into her hands again, patting between his eyes.
