The Forgotten Zodiac

"Sleep? Yes, sleeping. You were dead. Dead is sleep.." Bird blinked at him, tilting his head slightly to the side in confusion.  "It...it is, right? It's the same. Dead is sleep."

"No, it's no where near the same, Bird," L'arc said, looking a bit incredulous that the Nymph wasn't getting this. "In fact, sleep is pretty important. I think you /can/ die if you /don't/ sleep," he said.

"Well...I don't sleep." Bird blinked.

"What we talking about?" Sylas sat up, rubbing his eye.

"Sylas! You're alive! This is very good news," Bird stood up quickly, smiling a bit.

"...yeah dude, I was only asleep. Wait, that's what you were going on about last night, wasn't it?" Sylas frowned at him, then laughed. "Sleep isn't dying, Bird, it's resting your body and mind. It's important to get sleep."

"No. Sleep is bad." Bird insisted, frowning.

"You sleep sometimes. I've seen you dozing off in odd places. Oh...Bird, that's not healthy at all, you need sleep."

"I do not! And I don't doze off. I never sleep." Bird felt ridiculed at this point.

"...why don't you talk to (insert tree spirit's name here) about it?" L'arc said. "Do you think we're lying to you? I bet she could clear this up," he suggested.

"But...I can't talk to Versha," Bird frowned, looking down. "Just...forget it. I'm sorry for bothering you."

"Don't worry about it." Sylas rolled his eyes, not in the mood to deal to children at the moment.

"Don't worry about it," L'arc seconded. "You meant well, and you didn't really bother me. I should be up now, anyway," he said, rolling off his bed mat and stretching.

Bird perked up a bit, but he still looked tired. Sylas stood and left the tent, not at all surprised to see Bershee waiting on them.

"Here," She handed him a piece of paper. "You, L'arc, and whoever else wants to go should try to find these."

"Of course." Sylas smiled, taking the paper. "We'll be back before sunset. If not, send someone after us."

"We're on it," L'arc assured, glancing at the sheet of paper. "It's almost lik a scavenger hunt game, Sy," he said, grinning.

"Sure," Sylas chuckled. "We should see if Kendra wants to come along. It'd be good to have some extra protection, you know?"

L'arc grinned knowingly and nodded. "Sure, let's find her," he agreed, heading off towards her tent.

Sylas hurried after him, hoping they'd find Kendra somewhere simple.

"Wait!" Bird stopped them before they could get too far. "Could I...come with you, maybe?"

"Sure, Bird. We'd love your help," L'arc said, beckoning for the Nymph to follow them.

"Oh, good," Bird chirped happily, following after them with a little spring in his step. In spite of his tiredness, he seemed to have enough energy to get around. Just the same as usual.

"D'you think she's still asleep?" A frown crept onto Sylas' face at the thought. "I don't want to interrupt her..."

"No, she's probably up, I'd think," L'arc said. "But all the same, you get her."

"Alright," Sylas sighed, then ducked into the tent where she would be. Hopefully.

Kendra was, in fact, not in her tent, nor were any of the things she carried about during the day. It quickly became quite obvious that the girl was already out and about, and the others would have to seek her out if she was going to help them find the items on Bershee's list.

"Well..." Sylas frowned, then looked around. "Where could she be?" He frowned before spotting Byrne milling about towards them. "Hey, Byrne! Have you seen Eve anywhere?"

Byrne looked over in response to his name, grinning and waving in greeting before answering the question. "Yeah, she just left. Went off towards the town, I think," he said.

((I meant Kendra.))

"Thanks, Byrne. Have any interest in finding some plants with us?" Sylas offered, turning and walking backwards so he could keep moving and talk at the same time.

Byrne followed after the group in order to keep the conversation going. "Yeah, sure. I didn't have any big plans for this morning," he said.
